About Project JXTA
Project JXTA started as a research project incubated at Sun
Microsystems, Inc. under the guidance of Bill Joy and Mike Clary, to
address the peer-to-peer space. Project JXTA is an open, innovative,
collaborative, network computing project sponsored by Sun Microsystems,
Inc., aimed at removing the barriers and expanding the boundaries of
the Web. The Project JXTA technology addresses a need for an open, generalized
protocol that interoperates with any peer on the network including PCs,
servers and other connected devices.
Since April 25, 2001, developers have been creating projects using the
Project JXTA technology on the Project JXTA web site at http://www.jxta.org.
We encourage you to visit, get involved and be a part of Project JXTA's
community!
